7175-T7454 Aluminum

7175-T7454 aluminum is 7175 aluminum in the T7454 temper. To achieve this temper, the metal is solution heat-treated, stress relieved, then stabilized by artificial overaging. The stress relief is accomplished by restriking the product cold in the finish die. The degree of overaging is chosen so as to strike an effective balance between tensile strength, stress corrosion resistance, exfoliation corrosion resistance, and fracture toughness.

It has the highest strength compared to the other variants of 7175 aluminum.

The graph bars on the material properties cards below compare 7175-T7454 aluminum to: 7000-series alloys (top), all aluminum alloys (middle), and the entire database (bottom). A full bar means this is the highest value in the relevant set. A half-full bar means it's 50% of the highest, and so on.
