ISO Solder Alloy 501 (IEC C7A3, Sn99Cu0.7Ag0.3)

Solder alloy 501 is a tin-based soldering alloy. Cited properties are appropriate for the as-fabricated (no temper or treatment) condition. C7A3 is the IEC 60672 type for this material. 501 is the ISO numeric designation. Older literature may refer to this material as S-Sn99Cu0,7Ag0,3, but this is now discouraged.

It has a moderately low tensile strength and the highest thermal conductivity among tin-based solder alloys.

The graph bars on the material properties cards below compare solder alloy 501 to: tin-based solder alloys (top), all alloys in the same category (middle), and the entire database (bottom). A full bar means this is the highest value in the relevant set. A half-full bar means it's 50% of the highest, and so on.
