Wrought Superaustenitic Stainless Steel

Wrought austenitic stainless steels that are very highly alloyed. This additional alloying typically, but not always, comes from nickel (Ni). As nickel content increases, these iron alloys smoothly merge into the nickel alloy category. In fact, some superaustenitic steels carry UNS numbers in the nickel namespace (starting with N). Note that the term "superaustenitic" is a colloquial one; there is no distinct microstructure called "superaustenite".
